Mila Kunis the Gemfields’s Brand Ambassador

Standard

If you know her from hit art movie Black Swan, do you also know she’s the brand ambassador for Gemfields jewelry group? Gemfields is the world’s leading colored gemstone producer as well as the owner of world-reowned brand Faberge (acquired in January 2013). Mila wearing Gemfield’s jewelry adds mileage to the jewelry group’s profile.

This Romanov necklace is an extraordinary modern masterpiece, a regal re-imagining of an early Fabergé jewel, inspired by an archival gouache design dated 1885. It comprises 79 exceptional Zambian emeralds totaling 186.85 carats and featuring specially-cut sugar-loaf cabochons and a single pear-shaped drop of 30.65 carats.

Gemfields has about 20 percent market share of global emerald supply and 40 percent of amethyst. With emerald and ruby mining operations at the core of its business, group executive Ian Harebottle aims to be custodian of the colored gemstones industry by following the De Beers model. “What De Beers did for diamonds, we’d like to do for other gemstones starting with emeralds, rubies, amethysts and, hopefully soon, sapphires.”

Gemfields believes it can capitalize on the colored stones trend and inspire further growth with the hindsight to avoid De Beers mistakes and build on its successes “De Beers made a mistake in that it focused on one gem, and now we there’s definite move back to color.”

In its unique positioning as a company operating a mine-to-market supply chain model, the source of each of its gems is traceable and backed by Gemfields’ high ethical and environmental standards.  Apart from working with bigger names like Faberge, Gemfields also works with individual artist-jewelers. Expect exciting work from Gemfield’s network of carefully selected design partners.
